Holy wow! This is a lot of fun to play, and I am amazed it came out of a Jam timeframe. I think this is a really nice riff on the "tap to flutter" mechanic, and I'm really digging your background music, too.
This was amazing! Thank you so much for participating in the Week Sauce jam, I cannot believe you got all this done in just 7 days, so impressive! I disagree with Cal about the movement, I love the way it is like Joust but instead of flapping a bird you are swimming up, and it takes enough control that the puzzle/platforming is difficult enough to work. The having the game pause when talking with the other squids is nice too, giving you a bit of a respite. Please come back to do more Week Sauce games any time.
Really enjoyed playing it! Great job! The movement could maybe use some work, as it stands right now it feels a tad bit sluggish. Some of the hitboxes also feel a little off. But all in all, this game has a lot of character and is a fun little game.
